Ibagué, more beautiful than Bogotá

Bogotá is a great city; it is the capital of a beautiful country, Colombia. Ibagué is smaller than Bogotá but is important because is the musical capital of Colombia. Ibagué has a climate of 40°, Ibagué is hotter than Bogotá its people are friendlier. Ibagué is smaller than Bogotá but is more colorful and happier. Although Ibagué is one of the cities with bigger unemployment in the country, it has the hardest working people. Everybody in this city is more patient, nicer than in other cities as big as Bogotá. I think that the climate of cities influences a lot in people’s personalities for this reason I say that in Ibagué there aren’t bad days.
Vacations in Ibagué are funnier than in Bogotá. We have the Folklore Colombian Festival and The National Folklore pageant Contest that takes place in the month of June and it culminates in the month of July in the San Pedro’s parties.

Ibagué is the most beautiful city of the country and has the best things that a Colombian wants to have. To travel and to know Ibagué is one of it improves those experiences. Bogotá is big and amusing but Ibagué is more interesting and kinder even it is a smaller city than Bogotá.

My Role Model

My role model is my mother.  Her name is Anné Pascale Gil, she is from Bogota, she is 40 years old and she is a dentist.  She studied dentistry at the San Martín University.  She worked in this profession for several years, however, she is now a professional artistic painter.  My mom lives now in Villa de Leyva with my step father, my brother and my sister.  Aside from being a great mother, she is also a great professional, she has her own gallery in Villa de Leyva, and she gives art conferences all over the country. My mother dreams of traveling around the world to give conferences and teach others about her own and original painting style.  I admire her a lot because she is a patient, hard working, loving and caring person, but her main quality is the beautiful way that she looks at life, she's optimistic and believes in a perfect world.

Little monsters on my legs.

When I was seven years old, in the Elementary School, on 3rd year, i had a normal dayin the school. I had Math, English, Geography and Spanish class. I took my snack and came out of the school.

When I was waiting my mom, I saw a lot of red and big ants on the sidewalk. I wanted to know if these small animals could sting person. I sat behind the ants and I looked a long time. Suddenly I felt a ticklish on my legs; the ants came up my legs and were sting my legs and my body. At the moment my mom arrived and shook my legs and my uniform.

The ants left red injuries on my legs. It hurt me very much. Actually I don't like ants and I hope never meet with these insects again.

The first time i came to the Amazon

When I first went to the Amazon, I was very nervous and excited. The Amazon is really different compared to my hometown Ibagué - Tolima. I traveled by plain because The Amazon is a huge jungle and there wasn't a road.
The capital of the Amazon is Leticia, this town is very small, however, it has people with a big heart. The people are a little shy but very positive and passive.
The Amazon rainforest there were a lot of indigenous tribes and fauna diversity.
The Amazon River is the largest river in the world, and natives of this area depend on this river for all: their food and productivity resources. This river is also their main way of travel; it is because of this that they don't use cars as much as they use canoes.

Mi first experience in The Amazon was going to the Primate's House. There was a specialist who took care of all the species. The providence of these animals was confiscations of black market raid of the Colombian Police. Such specialist was in charge of rehabilitating all of the monkeys.
It was my first experience in the Amazon. Always I felt excited, but at the beginning I was a little scared because the people told me that the Amazon rainforest is dangerous but it seemed quite normal to me .I hope to came back some day.
